Nguyen and Kolesnik won the gold medal in the 2019 JGP United States.  And, they once more achieved personal bests at the 2019 JGP Poland.

In 2020, the U.S. Nguyen/Kolesnik won the gold medal by a margin of more than 22 points at the Figure Skating Championships with a combined score of 184.38 points. Both won the gold medal at the 2020 Bavarian Open.

At the 2020 World Junior Championships in Tallinn, Estonia, where they were one of the favorites to win, they wrapped up the campaign. At the end of June, they ended their partnership.  On May 15, 2022, it was revealed that Kolesnik would be skating for the United States with former singles skater Emilea Zingas.
