After that, he signed a one-year deal with the Houston Rockets on September 23, 2019. On March 31, 2021, he announced his retirement from professional basketball. Sefolosha was arrested with Pero Antic outside a nightclub in New York City on April 8, 2015. The police arrested them for interfering with police after Indiana Pacers player Chris was stabbed in the abdomen in an argument.

During this altercation, the police broke his right leg and he missed the rest of the season. The Manhattan jury found him not guilty of the charges on October 9 and he announced to sue New York City and eight police officers for up to $50 million in damages on October 21.

Later, he settled with the NYPD for $4 million on April 9, 2017, and he donated a substantial portion to Gideon’s Promise. Utah Jazz suspended him without pay for five games for violating Anti-Drug Program on April 3, 2018.
