Sasha was a four-year letter winner at Crown Point High School. He averaged 12.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.5 assists as a sophomore, garnering all-area honors from the Northwest Indiana Times.
At Crown Point, he averaged 20.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game during his final year. Likewise, he also leads the Bulldogs to their first league title since 1999, with a 22-4 record. Following his senior season, he was named an Indiana All-Star.
Sasha committed to the Purdue Boilermakers for his collegiate career on February 3, 2017. He redshirted his first season, giving him four seasons of eligibility starting with the 2018-19 season.
Stefanovic started all 36 games as a redshirt freshman, averaging 2.5 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 0.4 assists per game. In addition, he had a strong sophomore season, averaging 9.1 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game while starting 22 of 31 games.
