According to an arrest citation, Robby took the girl from the 4700 block of Haney Way at around 5:40 p.m. on July 3 and left with her in his Dodge Challenger.
Moreover, a neighbor started to follow the car and was able to give the police a portion of the license plate number. Later, that neighbor, Prentiss Weatherford, told media outlets he had been on his porch when the suspect’s car pulled up alongside the girl and her bike. Again, Weatherford told “He just grabbed her by the collar, threw her bike (and) threw her in the passenger’s seat.”
The Third Division of the Louisville Metro Police stopped the car on Grafton Hill Road not far from where it was stopped. Body camera footage captured Robby following orders to get down on his knees and raise his hands.
According to police, the girl was in the front seat of the car and wasn’t hurt. A forensic interview is planned to find out more details. Sergeant Joe Keeling stopped the vehicle in a driveway, ordered Robb to get on the ground, and then put him in handcuffs. Body camera footage later made available by the LMPD showed Officer Jason Burba taking the girl out of the vehicle.
The incident only lasted eight to nine minutes, according to Keeling, who afterward said in a radio interview with 840 WHAS. Robby had no relation to the 6-year-old girl and did not previously know her, according to LMPD.
Wildt’s neighbors told local news outlets that during brief, friendly interactions with him, they had never noticed anything out of the ordinary.
Criminal charge
Robby appeared in Jefferson District Court on July 13 for a preliminary hearing, with a grand jury scheduled to hear his case the week of August 9.

He entered a preliminary not guilty plea to one count of kidnapping a minor, a Class B felony punishable by 10 to 20 years in prison in Kentucky.
His bond was initially set at one million dollars. His public defender asked the judge to reduce his bond, citing his lack of a violent criminal history. While prosecutors cited the “nightmare” kidnapping scenario to argue he was still a danger to the community.
