He is the son of Mugur Sundar, a choreographer in the film industry. His mother’s name is Mahadevamma Sundar. Deva has two brothers ‘Raju Sundaram’ and ‘Nagendra Prasad’. Both Raju and Nagendra are choreographers.

In 2005, Prabhu won the Filmfare Award for Best Choreographer. In the same year, he was awarded in National Film Award for Best Choreography. Likewise, in the year 2019, Deva was awarded in Filmfare award(South) for best Choreographer. Similarly, in the same year 2019, he won the Padma Shri (Civilian Award) for his contribution to the field of Art.
Relationship Status
Previously, Prabhu Deva was in a relationship with Ramlath Nut. They were in a live-in relationship and got married in 1995. She was a Muslim girl but she converted to Hindu for their marriage. Even Ramlath changed her name to Latha. The couple was blessed with three sons named Vishal, Rishi Raghavendra Deva, and Adhith Deva. Their eldest son, Vishal died of cancer in 2008. Sadly, on July 2, 2010, the couple got divorced, after, Prabhu accepted the rumors of his affair with actress Nayanthara to be true. Later, he was in a live-in relationship with Nayanthara. The couple got separated after dating for three years. Likewise, in 2020, an Indian choreographer, Prabhu married Dr. Himani Singh.
