During his high school day, Pharrell Williams and his friend Chad Hugo form a band named ‘The Neptunes.’ Moreover, the band produced a series of successful songs, yet their breakthrough came in 2001 when they produced the Britney Spears song “I’m a Slave 4 U,” which became the production duo’s first worldwide chart-topper. Afterward, he collaborated with American singer Adam Lambert, with whom he co-wrote two tracks for Lambert’s second studio album, “Trespassing.” For the 84th Academy Awards, he composed and produced the music. Again, he composed the soundtrack for the animated sequel film, “Despicable Me 2” in 2013.

The song named “Happy” was written for the film, and was a huge hit. Moreover, the song reached the first position on the US Billboard Hot 100, and the song also won an Oscar nomination. The song was also the lead single of his second album “Girl.”

He also worked as a co-composer for the soundtrack of the hit superhero movie “The Amazing Spiderman 2.”Similarly, he served as a producer and composer for the 2016 popular biographical drama film “Hidden Figures.” The movie earned an Oscar nomination and was a huge hit.

Recent Works

Again, he worked as a composer of the third installment of the Despicable Me series, “Despicable Me 3.” The movie went on to be a blockbuster. That same year, he designed 1000 pairs of sneakers in collaboration with ‘Chanel’ and ‘Adidas.’ He also narrated the 2018 3D computer-animated movie “The Grinch.” He launched a three-day music festival named “Something in the Water,” with many renowned artists performing on the Virginia Beach Oceanfront in early 2019.
