Mina Harigae is an American professional golfer who currently competes on the LPGA Tour. Mina Harigae won the 2007 U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links as an amateur golfer. She won the California Women’s Amateur Championship four years in a row (2001–2005), her first as a 12-year-old.

Early life

Mina Harigae was born on 1st November 1989, in Monterey, California, the United States of America. As of now, she is 32 years old and she holds an American citizen by birth. Moreover, she belongs to the Asian ethnicity and she was raised in Monterey. Takara Sushi, a sushi restaurant in Monterey, California, is owned and operated by her parents. Talking about her academic qualification, she attended the Stevenson School for her primary and early education. Later, she enrolls at Duke University. But, she did not finish her course and dropped out after a year to achieve a professional career in golf.

Early career

Mina Harigae began practicing and won the California Women’s Amateur Championship in 2001. Moreover, she continued her victory streak for three more years, winning in 2002, 2003, and 2004. She also qualified for the U.S. Girls’ Junior Semifinals in 2003.

In 2004, she also advanced to the third round of the US Women’s Amateur. She won the stroke-play medal at the 2006 U.S. Girls’ Junior. She won the 2007 U.S. Her name was named to the Rolex AJGA Junior All-American First Team three times during her amateur career.

Professional career

She went pro in 2009 and won three times on the Duramed FUTURES Tour, including the Ladies Titan Tire Challenge, Michelob Ultra Duramed Futures Players Championship, and Falls Auto Group Classic. Her strong showing on the Duramed FUTURES Tour earned her a spot on the LPGA Tour in 2010.

She hasn’t looked back since then, and she has continued to give her all on the golf course. She finished seventh in the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship and the Kingsmill Championship in 2014. In 2017, she finished T10 in the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship, which was her highest finish of the season.

She won four times on the Cactus Tour in 2020, at Longbow Golf Club, Desert Canyon Golf Club, Orange Tree, and Talking Stick North Course. Mina just competed in the Kingsmill Championship for the year 2021.
