He worked as a broadcaster for nine-year and he left ESPN in 2009 due to his back problems dating back to an injury and surgeries. In 2010, he returned to the Sacramento Kings as a part-time commentator.

Bill announced in 2012 that he would return to full-time broadcasting as a basketball game analyst for ESPN and the Pac-12 Network.
