Career and Professional Life

Regarding his career, Leong started playing badminton at an early age and he is a Malaysian right-handed badminton player. Leong won the Asian Junior Championships in July 2017, defeating Bai Yupeng in the final.

In October 2017, he reached the World Junior Championships final, where he was defeated by top seed Kunlavut Vitidsarn, 21-17, 15-21, 9-21. He reached his first senior final in November 2017 at the Malaysia International Challenge, losing to compatriot Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin.

Moreover, as a qualifier, he reached the final of the Thailand Masters in January 2018, losing to second seed Tommy Sugiarto. He won his first senior title at the Finnish Open in April 2018, defeating his compatriot Cheam June Wei in the final. However, he injured his hip twice at the end of 2018, dropping his world ranking from 40th to 120th.

Also, Leong has played both BWF International Challenge(which is a grade 3 and level 1 tournament) and BWF International Series(which is a grade 3 and level 2 tournament).

Similarly, Leong has played in the Asian Junior Championships and BWF World Junior Championships. Likewise, Leong has also played the BWF World Tour(It is a series of elite badminton tournaments sanctioned by the Badminton World Federation that was announced on March 19, 2017, and began in 2018).
