Lauren Riihimaki is a well-known YouTuber, TikToker, Instagrammer, actress, and social media personality from Canada. Lauren Riihimaki is known for posting vlogs, and  podcasts on her channel named ‘LaurDIY.’

Early Life

Lauren Kobayashi Riihimaki, best known as Lauren Riihimaki was born on the 11th of August 1993, in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. She holds Canadian nationality and she is 30 years old as of 2024.

She has her belief in Christianity by religion while she has a birth sign of Leo. In addition, she belongs to a mixed ethnicity of Finnish-Japanese-Ukrainian descent.

She is the daughter of Greg Riihimaki (father) and Gail Riihimaki (mother). Her father is half Finnish and half Ukrainian while her mother is Japanese by nationality. However, it is unknown whether she is a single child of her parents or if she has any siblings or not.

Education

Talking about her academic qualification, she attended Alexandra Public School, where she studied till 6th grade. Afterward, she went to Queen Mary Public School and completed her high school education. Afterward, she completed her bachelor’s degree in Graphics and Communication management from Ryerson University.

Professional Career

While studying at university, Lauren Riihimaki began her YouTube journey. Moreover, she launched her YouTube channel, “LaurDIY” on the 2nd of December 2011.

But, she uploaded her first YouTube video on her channel on 15th April 2013. The video was titled “Draw My Life | LaurDIY” which has over 4 million views and over 44k likes on it.

On this channel, Riihimaki posts DIY fashion and beauty videos. One of the most popular and most viewed videos is titled ‘ROAST YOURSELF RAP CHALLENGE | LaurDIY’ which has over 15 million views with over 431k likes on it.

“DIY QUEEN” – LAURDIY (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO, is an original music video that she released on the 17th of September 2017. And, the music video has over 14 million views and over 421k likes on it. Her every video has an average views over 200k views. As of 2023, there are over 8.43 million subscribers.

Other Two YouTube channels

She has another YouTube channel named “LaurDIY Vlogs” which was launched on the 28th of February 2020. Moreover, she is known for posting daily vlogs. On the 2nd March 2020, she posted her first video on this channel titled “omg i have 0 subscribers right now” which has over 209k views and over 13k likes on it.

“This Is CRUEL and NOT Okay: Nikki Phillippi” titled video is the most viewed and popular video on this channel which has over 1.2 million views and 96k likes on it. In this channel, there are over 355k subscribers.

In addition, she has another third YouTube channel named “WILD ‘TIL 9” which was created on the 26th of 2020. Mainly, on this channel, she and her fiance Jeremy Lewis upload podcast videos and interview people.

On the 16th of February 2021, she uploaded her first video titled “Giving Money to Random Viewers | Wild ‘Til 9 Episode 28” which has over 96k views with over 4.8k likes on it. They usually upload podcast videos weekly.

“Sleeping with Fans & Plastic Surgery ft. Alisha Marie & Remi Cruz | Wild ‘Til 9 Episode 30” titled video is one of the most viewed videos on the channel, which has over 919k views and over 22k likes.  As of now, there are over 223k subscribers.

TikTok and as an actress

She also has a TikTok account named “wildtil9” where she mainly posts short podcast videos. As of January 2023, there are over 52.3k followers with 4.2 million total likes.

In addition, she made her debut in the 2017 comedy/horror movie in  “Tyler Perry’s Boo 2! A Madea Halloween” in which she played the role of Lisa. Afterward, she appeared in another 2017 movie named “Me and My Grandma.”

That same year, she appeared as The Engineer, in season 2 of the YouTube Premium series, Escape the Night, created by Joey Graceffa. Similarly, she has acted in a short movie named “Seven Bucks Digital Studios.” She was announced to host and executive produce a future HBO Max competition series called Craftopia in the year 2019.
