Previous to her enlistment, though, they had abandoned the jeeps in favor of Humvees. When she initially spoke with a recruiter, she was 17 years old. Her mother warned her that she would be forced to serve in the military for eight years. Despite that, she joined the military and enjoyed it there. And after eight-year, she quit the military peacefully.

Culinary Career

She decided to work in the hotel business when she left the army. One of her earliest jobs in New York was delivering food and beverages to rock and roll bands. Lollapalooza, the Eagles, and the Rolling Stones are just a few of the legendary musical acts she’s worked with. She afterward spoke with her father, who counseled her to pursue a job. She went on to the Culinary Institute of America in New York after that. Following her graduation, she successfully established a great reputation in the industry.

She worked at Aqua, a now-defunct restaurant in San Francisco, during her time there. She started cooking at Spruce after moving to Chicago, Illinois. Additionally, she worked as a sous cook at celebrity chef and mentor Paul Kahan’s renowned restaurant Blackbird from 1998 until 2003. She also served as the chef de cuisine at Avec, a Mediterranean-themed wine bar that earned a lot of honors and is located adjacent to Blackbird.
