Early Life and Childhood
Konstantin Andreev was born on March 14, 1848, in Moscow, Russia, and his full name was Konstantin Alekseevich Andreev.

He graduated in Mathematics from Imperial Moscow University from 1867 to 1871. Later, after two years of graduation, he obtained his Master’s Degree.
Career and Professional Life
Moving on to his career, Konstantin was a popular Russian mathematician. He was widely known for his work on projective geometry. Moreover, he founded the Kharkiv Mathematical Society in 1879.
He accepted the approach for Ph.D. studies at the University of Kharkiv on the recommendation of one of his teachers. He began teaching university courses there in January 1874.
Later, he was promoted to full-time lecturer after successfully defending his Ph.D. thesis “On a geometric formation of planar curves” in February 1875. Andreev was sent to Europe for one and a half years of practice at the end of 1876.
There he worked on his thesis, “On geometric correspondences as applied to the problem of constructing curves.” In February 1879, he was appointed full professor of Kharkiv University and Kharkiv Technology Institute.
Furthermore, he was elected a correspondent member of the Russian Academy of Sciences in 1884 and presented his work “On Poncelet polygons” at a conference in La Rochelle, France. Later, he returned to Moscow in 1898 to take up a position as a professor at Moscow University’s Department of Mathematics.
Simultaneously, he became director of the Alexander School of Business until 1907, and he worked extensively in the secondary education system. In addition, he was the first dean-elect of the Physics and Mathematics Faculty at Moscow University from 1905 to 1911, where he instituted the standard lecture cycle system.
However, he had to resign as dean and stop lecturing in 1911 due to a throat tumor that he had operated on in Europe in 1913. He then returned to teaching at Moscow University until 1917. In October 1921, he died near Sevastopol.
