Early Life and Education
Katheryn Winnick was born on the 17th of December, 1977, in Etobicoke, Ontario to Lesia Winnicki and Roman Winnicki. Winnick is 44 years old as of now and has 3 siblings Markjan Winnick, Adam Winnick, and Daria Winnick. Her full name is Katrusia Anna Vinitska.
She is of Ukrainian Canadian origin and her first language was Ukrainian. Moreover, she only spoke English after reaching Eight Years old. She did her schooling at a local high school in Etobicoke.

Winnick started to train in martial arts when she was seven years old. She was also able to obtain her first black belt at the young age of thirteen. She also established three taekwondo schools by the age of twenty-one.
While studying at York University, she also taught Taekwondo and self-defense to actors while accomplishing her degree in kinesiology. As for her education qualification, she has graduated. Winnick is also an alumna of the William Esper Studio.

She started her acting journey at a very young age at her community center in Toronto. She was able to set her foot in the film industry by teaching martial arts and self-defense to actors. The experience on the set made her want to pursue acting professionally.

Winnick was able to win the Best Actress Award for her work in “Children of the Air” during the Beverly Hills Film Festival.
She was also nominated in different award shows for the Best Actress category from 2014-2016. Her role in the drama series Vikings gave her many nominations for award shows.

Winnick landed her first acting job in the recurring role of Holly Benson in the 1999 drama “Student Bodies”. She then appeared in the movies Biohazardous’ and ‘Two Weeks’ Notice’.

In February 2020, Winnick disclosed that she was cast in the series role of Jenny Hoyt on the ABC crime drama series Big Sky.
