Jordin Sparks is an actress and singer from the United States. Moreover, Jordin Sparks rose to fame in 2007 after winning the sixth season of American Idol at age 17, becoming the youngest winner in the series’ history.

Early Life

Jordin Sparks was born on the 22nd of December 1989, in Phoenix, Arizona, the United States of America. According to her date of birth, she is 34 years old and holds American nationality. Her birth name is Jordin Sparks-Thomas and belongs to the African-American ethnicity.

Sparks is the daughter of Phillippi Sparks (father) and Jodi Sparks (mother). Professionally, her father is a well-known sportsperson who played for the football team ‘New York Giants.’ She grew up with her younger brother, Phillippi “PJ” Sparks Jr. Her brother played football at Arizona Christian University.

The album featured the Billboard Hot 100 top-ten hits “Tattoo” and “No Air” the latter of which, a duet with Chris Brown, is presently the third best-selling single by any American Idol participant, selling over three million digital sales in the United States.

She received her first Grammy nomination for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals for the song. Battlefield (2009), Sparks’ second studio album, debuted at number seven position on the Billboard 200 list.

Its title song peaked at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, making Sparks the only American Idol contestant to have all five of her songs chart in the top 20 in the United States. Her second song, “S.O.S. (Let the Music Play)” reached number one on the Hot Dance Club Play chart.

Other Works

Sparks went into acting after the release of Battlefield, pursuing television and Broadway roles. She made her stage debut in the musical In The Heights (2010) as Nina Rosario and her feature film debut in the titular role in Sparkle (2012).

Moreover, she has also produced several perfumes, including Because of You… in 2010, Fascinate, and Ambition in 2012. Relationship Status

On July 17, 2017, Jordin Sparks married Dana Isaiah, a fitness model. People magazine revealed her pregnancy in November 2017.  Sparks gave birth to her first child, a son, on May 2, 2018. In the past, she dated Jason Derulo for three years, ending their relationship in 2014.

Sparks had severe vocal cord hemorrhaging in April 2008 as a result of overuse of her vocal cords. Doctors advised vocal rest, forcing Sparks to postpone planned concerts, including cameos on Alicia Keys’ tour. Sparks was cleared by doctors a month later, allowing her to rejoin the tour.
