Jhené Aiko Efuru Chilombo best known as Jhene Aiko born on the 16th of March 1988, in Los Angeles, California, the United States of America.

When she was a young girl, her elder sisters Jamila and Miyoko had already begun their musical careers. Talking about her professional career, Jhene Aiko began her musical career after becoming a part of the band B2K and signed with Epic Music at the age of 12.

In 2002, she sang for B2K’s debut video album ‘Uh Huh’ and also won the ‘BET Award for Viewer’s Choice.’ She planned to release her debut musical album,’ My Name is Jhene,’ through Sony, The Ultimate Group, and Epic.

Due to some disagreements with Epic Music, she was forced to drop her venture. As a result, she retired from Epic in order to pursue her education.

After completing her education, she returned to music and in 2011, she released her first mixtape ‘Sailing Soul(s)’, which featured artists like Drake, Kayne West, and Miguel. After a year, she got signed to American Hip-Hop and R&B record producer Ernest Dion Wilson a.k.a. No I.D.  with Artium record imprints through Def Jam.

She released her debut EP ‘Sail Out,’ which was released in November 2013. The EP reached the number one spot on the R&B chart. In March 2014, she joined rapper Big Sean for a collaboration album titled ‘ Twenty88.’

She released her single ‘Maniac’ in 2016 from her upcoming album set to be released in 2017. In February 2017, she appeared in 6LACK’s new seductive release ‘First F*ck’ in February 2017.

She released several non-album singles such as “Maniac”, “First Fuck” with 6lack, and “Hello Ego” featuring Chris Brown from late 2016 to mid-2017. ‘While We’re Young,’ her second studio album was released in June 2016.

Her second album, Trip was released without a prior announcement on September 22, 2017. She co-directed a 23-minute autobiographical film titled Trip, after the album was also released a day before Trip on September 21, 2017.

Moreover, Aiko released “Triggered (Freestyle),” released on 8th May 2019. This single debuted at number fifty-one on the US Billboard Hot 100 and peaked at number 3 on the US R&B Songs. On March 2020, her third studio album, Chilombo was released.
