Early Life and Childhood
Jack Johnson was born on the 18th of May 1975, in North Shore, Oahu, Hawaii, in the United States of America. His age is 47 years old as of 2022 and he holds American nationality. Sadly, he met with a surfing accident at the age of 17 which changed his whole life completely. In 1997, he completed his graduation from the University of California at Santa Barbara with a degree in Film Studies.
Professional Career
Initially, Jack Johnson began his career as a surfer. When he was just 17 years old, he made history when he became the youngest surfer to reach the finals of ‘Pipeline Masters,’ Oahu.
Due to a surfing accident, he could not hold the title and had to quit surfing. After this, he began focusing on music. He wrote and provided vocals in the 1999 song “Rodeo Clowns” and got his breakthrough in G. Love’s album “Philadelphia.”
Other albums and acting career
Moreover, he made his acting debut in the same year in the movie called “Nice Guys Sleep Alone.” He played himself in his debut documentary film “Thicker Than Water” in the year 2000.
The next year, he released his debut album “Brushfire Fairytales” which was a super hit worldwide and he gained more popularity. In 2002, he directed another documentary film “The September Session” where he played the lead role as himself.
He launched his recording studio ‘Brushfire Records’ at the end of 2003. That same year on 6th May, he released his second studio album “On and On.” His third documentary film “A Brokedown Melody” was released in the year 2004.

Meanwhile, he released his third album “In Between Dreams” on the 1st of March 2005. For the film ‘Curious George’ he released a soundtrack album “Sing-A-Longs and Lullabies” on the 7th of February 2006. This album became the number one selling children’s album topping the US Billboard 200 music chart.
On the 1st of February of 2008, he released his fourth album “Sleep Through the Static.” Later, it was followed by a world tour. He released a live album and DVD of Johnson’s 2008 world tour, “En Concert” on the 27th of October 2009.
Later, he released his fifth studio album “Man of the World” on the 9th of February 2010. The first single from ‘To the Sea’: “You and Your Heart” was released on the 6th of April 2010. It reached number one on ‘US Billboard Triple-A.’

He released his sixth album “From Here to Now to You” on the 17th of September 2013, with his band which created critical applause. Later, he released his seventh studio album “All the Light Above It Too” on the 8th of September 2017. The album peaked at number 13 on the Billboard chart’s “Artists 100.”
He released his greatest hit album “Jack Johnson: The Essentials” in Japan only in the year of July 2018. In addition, he was featured on Milky Chance’s new single “Don’t Let Me Down.”
He released his new single named “The Captain Is Drunk” on the 4th of December 2020. Moreover, he released his eighth studio album, “Meet the Moonlight,” on the 24th of June 2022. This album is his first full-length record in five years.
