He has worked on the films Phantom of the Paradise (1974), Darktown Strutters (1975), Death Game (1977), and Movie Movie (1978), among others as a project designer.
Jack Fisk has also worked with Terrence Malick and David Lynch, among others. He is famous for his work with Terrence Malick, designing all of Malick’s first eight films, including Badlands (1973), Days of Heaven (1978), The Thin Red Line (1998), The Tree of Life (2011), and others.

The Master got a nomination for a BAFTA Award for Best Production Design in 2013. The Tree of Life was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Production Design in 2012. There Will Be Blood took home the prize for Best Production Design in 2008. The Revenant was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Achievement in Production Design in 2016.
