For the film, she and the two other main cast members, Michael C. Williams and Joshua Leonard used their birth names as character names. Later in life, after retiring from acting, she changed her name to Hance. For her role in the series, she was nominated for the Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress on Television. Next year, she was seen playing the role of Linda Schmidt in an episode of the police procedural drama television series “Without a Trace.”

After two years, she was seen playing the role of Cpl. Keats in the television film “Manticore.”   That same year, she appeared as Stacy Corvelli in the sitcom “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.” In 2008, she was last seen as Nan in the direct-to-DVD horror film “The Morgue” and the movie was directed by Halder Gormes and Gerson Sanginitto.

In the year 2008, she left acting to become a medical marijuana grower. She signed a publishing deal for her debut book Growgirl, about her time as a marijuana grower in 2011. The book was released on January 5, 2012, under the Heather Donahue name by Gotham Books.

During her acting career, she has won three awards and four nominations. In the year 2000, she won the Fangoria Chainsaw Awards for Best Actress- “The Blair Witch Project”, the OFTA Film Award for Best Breakthrough Performance: Female, and the Razzie Award for Worst Actress for the same movie.
