Professional career

From his high school times, he began playing American football. Moreover, he played as a cornerback and running back in his sophomore years.

He helped West Linn to a 12-2 record and a berth in the 6A state championship game as a junior in 2015. He rushed for 1,071 yards on 106 carries, scoring seventeen times, and had 476 receiving yards on 28 receptions, scoring six times.

On offense and defense, he was named first-team All-Three Rivers League. He helped West Linn to a 14-0 record in his senior season, including a 62-7 victory in the 6A state title game.

On 59 carries, he rushed for 784 yards and eleven touchdowns. He was a nationally ranked recruit after his senior year. He is the # 2 ranked player in Oregon, # 213 overall, and the 19th ranked cornerback in the US, according to ESPN.

In 2017, he played 13 games as a freshman at Washington, registering 19 tackles. Moreover, in his sophomore year of 2018, he participated in all 14 games, totaling 29 interceptions.

In 2019, he became a starter for the first time in his junior season, appearing in all 13 games. He had 79 tackles and four thwarts towards the end of the season.

After registering a capture attempt and a constrained bungle throughout the game, he was named the MVP of the 2019 Las Vegas Bowl. He announced on December 21, 2020, that he would forego his remaining eligibility and join the NFL Draft in 2021.

On April 30, 2021, the Tennessee Titans picked him with the 100th overall pick in the third round of the NFL Draft. Moreover, he signed a four-year rookie contract with Tennessee on July 22.
