Chaeyoung is a South Korean rapper, model, songwriter, dancer, and singer. Chaeyoung is one of the members of the nine-member girl group ‘Twice’. Therefore, she was assigned the role of the group’s main rapper.
Early Life and Childhood
Chaeyoung full name is Son Chae-young, born on April 23, 1999. She hails from Dunchon-dong, Seoul, South Korea. As of now, she is 24 years old and her sun sign is Taurus. Talking about her parents, she has a younger brother named Son Jeong-hoon. Her parents’ names are not mentioned.
At a young age, she was interested in performing arts. So, she started as a model for a children’s magazine. She wanted to become a singer from the beginning and also took dance lessons for over a year. Moreover, she attended the ‘Hanlim Multi Art School with fellow Twice member Tzuyu, and she graduated in 2019.

Career and Professional Life
After a successful audition to JYP Entertainment that was on 6 June 2012, She trained for nearly three years. Therefore, at the age of 14, she did her first audition. She initially began as a singer but then began to train as a rapper shortly after commencing her training. Similarly, before debuting with ‘Twice’, she starred in music videos by Got7 and Miss A.
In 2015, she participated in the reality TV competition Sixteen. And, as one of 9 successful participants, she joined the newly formed girl group ‘Twice’. Similarly, on 20th October 2015, ‘Twice’ officially came with release of their first play ‘The Story Begins’. Additionally being the singer for the group, she is also known for being one of Twice’s rappers, along with group members Dahyun and Momo.
She was the first member to gain writing credits. It was when she wrote the rap verse for Twice’s version of J. Y. Park‘s Precious Love, as part of their release ‘Page Two’ in 2016. And, ever since, Chaeyoung has provided the lyrics of multiple songs for ‘Twice’. Additionally, she then covered Alone by Cheeze as a solo project.

Likewise, in Twice’s second Japanese studio album ‘&Twice’, she took part in composing the track “How U Doin'” alongside Frants, making her the first member to do so she also designed the group’s limited edition ‘Page Two’ album cover and also designed 3 different pairs of SPRIS shoes.
In 2016, she hosted the event ‘Suwon K-pop Super Concert’ alongside Kim Hee-chul, Zhou Mi, and Momo. In the year 2020, her phone number was leaked on social media. And, JYP Entertainment released a statement about the incident, and she responded directly on Twice’s Instagram page. Furthermore, she is ranked 66th on TC Candler’s “The Most Beautiful Faces of 2020”.

She is a private person and has a low-key life. She hasn’t shared any details regarding her relationships. However, she is now single and not dating anyone. Therefore, she is focused on her career and is developing her skills. Even though she has not shared her past dating history, she has mentioned her ideal type is;
‘Someone who takes care of me well; Someone who loves me a lot; and someone who dresses well.’
