Professional career

Brandt Jobe went to UCLA where he was a member of the 1988 NCAA Division I Men’s Championship-winning team. In the same year, he began his professional career. He dominated the Canadian Tour’s order of merit in 1990.

Moreover, he won membership in the PGA Tour in 1991 via Qualifying School but made only five cuts that year. During his few unsettled seasons, he won the 1995 Asia Golf Circuit  Order Merit.

Moreover, he established himself on the Japan Golf Tour, where he played from 1995 to 1999 and won six tournaments.

After that, he returned to the PGA Tour as a special temporary member in September 1999. Despite a freak accident in his garage at home, he has continued to play regularly.

In 2003, he underwent major hand and wrist surgery after slashing his hand and cutting three fingers with a shattered push broom.

He has never won on the PGA Tour, but he has tied for the second four times, including two times in 2005 while competing on a major medical exemption.

In the 2010 Nationwide Tour, he finished in 30th place which was not enough for a PGA Tour Card. However, he was exempted from the final stage of Q School, where he tied for sixth place and received his 2011 card.

He tied for second place in the Memorial Tournament in June 2011, one stroke behind Steve Stricker, his best finish in six years.

He won the Champions Tour qualifying school to earn his tour card for 2016. On June 11, 2017, he received his first Champions Tour victory at the Principal Charity Classic with a 14-under-par score of 202.

In addition, he also won his second PGA Tour Champions victory at the Boeing Classic.

Brandt is a married man. He married Jennifer Jobe. The couple has a son whose name is Jackson and a daughter whose name is Brittan. Moreover, their son Jackson was selected third overall by the Detroit Tigers in the 2021 Major League Baseball draft.
