Growing up, this personality played American football at Mitchell High School which is located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He subsequently received a football scholarship to the University of Washington.

Following this, he played college football as a guard for the Washington Huskies. With this team, this personality won the Morris Trophy in 1996.
