Early Life
The talented rapper was born on 27th November 1992, in Caroline, United States. Anuel AA’s full name is Emmanuel Gazmey Santiago and he is a Puerto Rican native. Likewise, his current age is 31 years and his sun sign is Sagittarius. The name of his parents his father, José Gazmey, and his mother, Nilda Santiago. His dad is of Afro-Puerto Rican descent and his mom is of White Puerto Rican descent. Moreover, his father was the vice president of the A&R department of Sony Music in its Puerto Rican division. He spent all his childhood in a housing project in Caroline, Puerto Rico.
While he was still a kid, his dad was working in the studio with several salsa artists like Héctor Lavoe and Fania All-Stars. Talking about the rapper’s educational background, he went to Colegio Maria Auxiliadora. It is a co-educational catholic school in Caroline. From his early teens, he showed his interest in the music field. In addition, his objective was to become a rapper in the year 2010. He even wanted to recruit his dad’s influence in collecting a deal with the record label “Maybach Music Group”. The label’s founder was an American rapper, Rick Ross.

Anuel AA – Career and Professional Life
Career
He brought his 1st song “Demonia” in collaboration with Ñengo Flow in 2011. He got support from his dad and the latter’s friend and rapper Tempo for the same song. Then, he got the chance to work with other various artists like Ozuna, Arcángel, De La Ghetto, and reggaeton duo Jory Boy. He together with Anonimus and Almighty was presented in the remix version of Bryant Myers’ 1st success “Esclava”. The track was out on 2nd September 2015. His music theme is linked with problems such as sex, violence, drugs, street life, and murder and he uses very vulgar words in his songs.
The early singles and remixes were posted on his social media accounts from where he got support from several other artists and his fans and followers also increased massively. Moreover, he grabbed the attention of Rick Ross which helped him to make a deal with Ross’ Latin division of the Maybach Music team. After that, he came up with “Real Hasta La Muerte: The Mixtape” in February 2016. He then was in jail for some issues but he did not stop creating music. While he was still in jail, he was still working together with artists like J Balvin, Bad Bunny, Cosculluela, and Nicky Jam.

He then started bringing tracks from jail. It was possible just because he got permission to record his voice from the phone. The Latin trap artist’s single “Sola” became the 1st hit single. On 5th December 2016, its remix version was brought by Maybach Music Group, presenting Farruko, Wisin, Daddy Yankee, and Zion & Lennox. Then, he worked together with Ozuna in the latter’s 1st studio album “Odisea” and was present in one of its tracks “Bebé”. Furthermore, he was present in the other 3 tracks of the 24th August 2018 released 2nd album of Ozuna, “Aura”.
After some time, the rapper was taken to a state jail in Miami in March 2018. At this time as well, he was on Billboard as he was still collecting the inspirations for songwriting by being attached to the radio and placing a tab of the things taking place in the streets. In addition, he with Bad Bunny and Future was present in Spiff TV’s track “Thinkin” which was out on 6th April 2018 by Sony Music Latin. He was out of jail on 17th July 2018, he also came up with his 1st full-length album, “Real Hasta La Muerte”. The album had twelve tracks and it reached the top of the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart within twenty-four hours of its premiere.

In August 2018, the rapper got to meet the Colombian singer, Karol G for the first time. They were on the set of the music video for their song “Culpables” which was also just one month after he was out of jail. Anuel AA and Karol G revealed their serious relationship in January 2019. Also, Karol G was present at the Billboard Latin Music Awards on 25th April 2019. She was wearing a “massive” diamond ring which was the confirmation of the couple’s engagement. Moreover, he has a son whose name Pablo Anuel from a previous relationship with Astrid Cuevas.
He was arrested with 3 others on 3rd April 2016 after finding 3 pistols adding a stolen one; 9 clips and 152 bullets from the car they were riding. After his arrest, his fans and followers began the #FreeAnuel movement to set him free which soon went viral. Also, he went through gun possession charges; however, his mutual relationship with the administration led him to be reduced to thirty months in federal prison from 5 five-year sentences. When he was going through his trial under presiding judge Aida Delgado-Colon, he said that his real character is not the same as it is in the lyrics of his music. The rapper had an incident with another patient while he was still in jail.
This incident made him spend ninety days in solitary imprisonment. Then, the rapper again in another controversy when he brought a diss track on 15th September 2018 that was directed at Cosculluela who is also a singer. He was then heavily criticized for the vulgar language he used. Also, for the dishonorable comments, he mentioned HIV patients and homosexuality. Such public criticism took his production staff to the cancellation of his concert which was going to happen on 20th October 2018 at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico venue.
