She began her career in international relations in Japan. She began her broadcasting career on the radio before moving to television in Tokyo for Bloomberg in 1999 and 2000.

In addition, she joined CNBC in January 2001 and works for the company’s Asia-Pacific headquarters in Singapore for eight years.

In 2009, she worked for CNBC in Sydney before moving to CNBC’s global headquarters in New Jersey in May 2010. Her  first job at CNBC USA was as a co-anchor on the show “The Call.”

She’s also been in several other CNBC broadcasts and segments. In March 2011, she joined The Call as a co-host. She was a finalist in the category of Best News Presenter at the Asian Television Awards in 2007 and 2008.

She left CNBC US on January 15, 2016, after her final appearance as a co-host of Power Lunch, to return to Sydney, Australia. In July 2016, she returned to CNBC Asia.
