Alessandra Ambrosio was born on the 11th of April 1981, in Erechim, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. It makes her age 41 and she holds dual nationality of Brazil and the United States.

Regarding her professional career in participated in Brazil’s legendary ‘Elite Model Look,’ competition, where she landed among the 20 finalists. When she was just 15 years old, she debuts for Dilson Stein, who’s credited for discovering top models – Gisele Bundchen and Caroline Trentini. After this, her modeling career rose to prominence and she was featured on the cover page of Brazilian Elle magazine.

As a result, she was signed by Guess for its Fall 2000 Millennium Campaign. In 2000, she was hired by the American lingerie brand ‘Victoria’s Secret’ and she made her runway appearance at its fashion show.

In the year 2004, Ambrosio launched her swimwear line, Alessandra Ambrosio by Sais, as a division of Rosa Cha, and was well received with 10,000 units being sold in its first month.

At the 2005 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, she modeled and dressed in lingerie made completely from candy. Similarly, she appeared on the cover of Marie Claire’s July edition, along with Sacha Baron Cohen to promote his film ‘Bruno’ in the year 2009.

Besides modeling, she made her cameo as herself on HBO’s Entourage; The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn; Late Night with Conan O’Brien; A guest judge on Project Runway Season 2: Team Lingerie, and twice on The Tyra Banks Show.

Moreover, she was also featured on America’s Next Top Model in the series 20th cycle. Similarly, she made her cameo in the box-office hit film Casino Royale, appearing briefly as Tennis Girl #1.

She guest starred on the How I Met Your Mother episode “The Yips” on 26 November 2007 with her fellow Victoria’s Secret Angels Adriana Lima, Selita Ebanks, Marisa Miller, Miranda Kerr, and Heidi Klum.

In the American sitcom “New Girl” she made a cameo role in an episode of ‘Prince.’ Moreover, she made her acting debut in the Brazilian telenovela “Verdades Secretas,” which premiered on Rede Globo on 8 June 2015, playing the role of former top model Samia. She played herself in the 2016 film, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.”
